Conversion of old structure into luxury apartment building in the central area of Bangkok. I used warm materials and transparent surfaces to better integrate in the tropical climate and take advantage of the amazing river view.

The Montessori School Campus proposes the conversion of a 4 building apartment complex into school buildings as well as the construction of two new buildings: the Administration Building and the school Cafeteria. It also proposes a new landscape design for the campus.

Located between a main commercial boulevard and the Yellow Sea, the site is a perfect location for a long-term hospitality and residential investment. The original demands of using simple, straight, boxy shapes for the 2 towers (the service apartments and the hotel) were eventually changed into a more bold, sexy proposal.

The project proposes the redesigning of a 35 story building, from the division of the interior space to the complete reskinning. As the structure of the tower didn’t leave too many options for shape modification, the main challenge of the project was the skin itself. The goal was to make the building stand out between the classical Chinese architecture of the Jing’An Temple and the more modern KPF tower nearby.

Previously built, the skatepark’s noise seemed to disturb the residents of the nearby neighbourhood. Consequently, we were asked to design a sound protection over the skatepark in order to minimize the sound pollution. Therefore, a previously designed Halfpipe house was modified and turned into an effective sound-proof barrier.
